Fall 2021 Newsletter

We can only hope things start looking up and for an extended summer like we had last year, but summer is nonetheless coming to an end. It’s time to start thinking about closing your pool or at least preparing for it. You can still book an appointment with us to come and close your pool, but hurry because our books are filling up. If you have an appointment already but would like us to visit sooner or later than originally scheduled, let us know and tell us your preferred closing date. We will do our best to accommodate your needs!

Not sure how to close your pool? Stop by either of our stores and our friendly staff will guide you through all you need to know as well as answer any questions you may have. We have free, step-by-step instructions available at both locations! Here are some things that we highly recommend that you do for the closing season to ensure an easier opening for next spring!

  • Bring in a water sample to test and balance your pH and alkalinity before you close,
  • Use one of our amazing pool closing kits along with 4 gallons of liquid chlorine,
  • After you’re all closed for the season, bring in your pump for a winter overhaul!

During pool season, we always recommend that you run your pump 24/7. If you did

this, your pump ran for about 1750 hours in the summer heat and rain. We strongly recommend that you bring in your pool pump for a winter check, especially if you haven’t before and/or you live in an area with a lot of cottonwood. Our winter pump overhaul can help extend the life of your pump by several years if done on a yearly basis. It would shock you some of the things that can find their way into your pump or motor. Bees’ nests, snakes, cottonwood, and all other sorts of fun from nature have been found lingering after a long season. These can cause serious damage. Don’t let this happen to you!

Due to the pandemic, raw materials to make many products are difficult to get and we may have difficulties keeping some things in stock. Please purchase what you need as soon as you can because restock supplies may be difficult to get. Be safe this winter, and we’ll see you next year!
